Dayum that kitchen is... Stacked

So we have begun...the semi-demo. I removed all of the hardware and left it to cook on low in a crockpot all day with dish soap. Most of the scum had come off by the end of the day but there was still some of the mystery white gunk that appears on dirty metal so i scubbed the dirtiest down then put them all to soak in white vinegar and later ended up adding some baking soda for good measure... I will add a pic when I make my 'spray painting hardware' post. However they are looking much better than before. lookin like theyre begging for some rustoleum hammered silver spray paint.
As you can see I have also started pulling out the 'econ-o-tile'. That was an accident... I was poking around with the measureing tape and one of them just popped off! So i started at it. There is some resilient brown..adhesive?..lurking but from what I have read online should loosen up with some goo-gone. Then I can scape away with my utility knife, the same one i stepped on yesterday and sliced open my toe, righht before work. Also please note the new cabinets.. My new layer. My stacked cabinets. And there will be stacked subway tile. I think we found our theme. One of those is 43" ($15) and one is 39" ($10)... 43 plus 39=...82 which is 7 less than 89" which is the exact length of the row. I originally thought it was 90" and was planning on spending 50 some odd dollars on those unfinished 30 x 12 cabinets at blank box store... A piece! But why would i pay and extra $125 dollars just to have it hang over an inch. No thanks. I will fill in the 3.5" gaps... Somewhow.
